About Madison
Madison Deyo is a surrealist painter and illustrator who currently lives and works in Chicago, IL. Born and raised in a small town in central Wisconsin, her use of natural elements pay homage to the state parks she grew up near. Taking inspiration from artists like Georgia O’Keefe, Frida Kahlo, and René Magritte, Madison intertwines imagery of flora and fauna with the human figure to create surrealist depictions of life, death, and growth.
After graduating from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in December of 2020 with a Bachelors of Science in Art, Communications, and a certificate in Digital Studies, Madison worked as an art instructor and media specialist in Sun Prairie, WI. There, she was able to educate K-12 children on art history, help develop a mural project devoted to diversity, equity and inclusivity, and expand her own artistic perspective.
Currently, Madison works as a media specialist and a teaching artist. She continues to refine her painting and illustrating skills while exploring in textiles and mixed media. She is partnered with Single Braid Brewing, a meadery based in Wisconsin, working on logo and label designs.
